Designed for small to medium-sized paddlers in the 99 to 160 lb range, the 12s pairs a smaller cockpit and lower deck height with a finely tuned hull that performs well beyond what its compact dimensions suggest. Multi-chined sides, moderate rocker, and a full-bodied flared bow give it the lift and responsiveness to handle big water confidently, and the moulded-in thigh braces, positioned well above the knees, provide the edging control and secure grip that smaller paddlers need to actually connect with the boat. For 2026, Delta has upgraded to the new Elevate Contour Seat System — a redesigned seat pan with three stages of height adjustment, 25% more cushioning, and a sleeker, more streamlined profile. It adjusts four inches fore and aft, and the improved fit and support make a real difference over a full day on the water. It tracks well enough without assistance that a rudder or skeg are not offered as options.

Three Press-Lock thermoform hatch covers seal bow, stern, and centre day storage that rivals kayaks several feet longer. Safety features normally reserved for full-sized sea kayaks are standard here too, including curved bulkheads for strength and easy drainage, reflective perimeter lines, and comprehensive deck rigging for a paddle float and pump. The 12s is capable enough to be included in Paddle Canada certified sea kayak courses at Frontenac Outfitters, a distinction it shares with very few boats this size.
